Your guide will meet you at your hotel lobby early morning to start your full-day tour of Luxor attractions. The distance between Hurghada and Luxor is approximately 300km takes around 4 hours of driving with a coffee break on the way. Once, you reach Luxor, you will start your tour from the west bank of the Nile River. Your first stop will be the easiest stop of the day, the Colossi of Memnon.
Memnon Colossi
Memnon Colossi are two massive stone statues of Amenhotep III once decorating the entrance of his mortuary temple. Unfortunately, the temple is almost in ruins but the statues still there show the Pharoah sitting on his throne and his mother and wife standing long his legs.
Valley of the Kings
Your next stop will be the Valley of the Kings with the amazing tombs cut inside the mountain. Once, these tombs had the mummy of the king and the Funerary objects they put with him for the afterlife. Valley of the Kings has the tombs of all the Pharaohs of the Eighteenth Dynasty, Nineteenth Dynasty and Twentieth Dynasty. Listen to your guide about the tomb's decorations, tomb robbers, Egyptian gods, and funerary beliefs. With your entrance ticket, you can visit 3 tombs and you can shoot photos inside for free. These three tombs could be 3 of the following tombs:
- (KV 02) Rameses IV
- Tomb of Ramses III (KV 11)
- Ramses IX Tomb KV 6
- Merenptah tomb (KV 8)
- The tomb of Tausert and Setnakht (KV 14)
Hatshepsut temple
Hatshepsut's engineer Senmut built this Hatshepsut temple at Deir El Bahri near the Mortuary temple of Mentuhotep II surrounded by the tomb of Nobles. However, the carvings on the walls of the temple show amazing scenes for the Punt Expedition and the Divine Birth of Queen Hatshepsut. Also, you need to see the beautiful Anubis Chapel, Hathor Chapel, and the god Amun holy of holies.
Lunch: enjoy your freshly cooked lunch at a local restaurant as part of your Egypt tours.
Karnak temple
Karnak temple on Luxor's east bank will be your last stop in your Luxor day tours. Honestly, Karnak is like a book about ancient history during the New Kingdom. Meanwhile, the wall reliefs show ancient gods, daily rituals, education, and astrology. The temple of Karnak was dedicated to the god Amun, his wife Mut, and their son Khonsu. In addition, there are so many gods worshiped here like Seshat, Ptah, Osiris, Sekhmet, and Khnum. At the end of your Egypt tour, it's time to start your way back to your hotel in Makadi Bay with a short break for toilet, drink, or stretch your legs for a while.
