Golavita representative will meet you at your hotel lobby to start your two-day Luxor trip from El Gouna to Luxor attractions. It takes around 4 hours driving with a short break on the way for coffee, toilet, and breakfast. Upon arrival to Luxor, you will start your tour on Luxor West Bank.
Valley of the Kings
Your first stop on Luxor's west bank will be the Valley of the Kings where they buried all the Kings of the Eighteenth Dynasty, Nineteenth Dynasty, and Twentieth Dynasty. Also, Tutankhamun's tomb is located in the Valley of the Kings. The tombs of the valley are decorated with religious books and magical formulas to protect the king during his trip to the afterlife. These books include the Book of Day, Book of Night, Book of Heavenly Cow, Book of Caverns, and the Book of Imyduat. There are three tombs included in your entrance ticket you can visit.
There are also 3 extra tombs against charge such as Tutankhamun's tomb with his mummy and sarcophagus because the rest of the treasures in the Grand Egyptian Museum. Also, Seti I tomb and Ramesses V are extra charge tombs. After visiting your 3 tombs and shooting some photos of the astronomical ceiling of the tombs, you will be ready for your next stop.
Mortuary temple of Hatshepsut
The next stop will be the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut on Luxor's west bank is located in Deir El Bahari side by side with the Mortuary Temple of Mentuhotep II. Senmut, Queen’s engineer built the temple for Hatshepsut in a very unique way. Indeed, there are a lot of amazing places in the temple like Hathor Chapel, Anubis Chapel, and Amun holy of holies. Moreover, the wall reliefs show important events like the Punt expedition and the Queen's Divine Birth. Also, scenes of daily life like agriculture in ancient Egypt, trading, and Music and dance in ancient Egypt. After visiting the temple, you will proceed with your guide to the next stop
Memnon Colossi
Your last stop on Luxor's west bank will be the Memnon Colossi, this massive statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III seated on the throne while his mother and wife are portrayed long his feet. The Colossi were decorating the entrance of his Mortuary temple but it is in ruins now. The temple was built to provide the Opening of the Mouth rituals to the mummy before they put it in the tomb.
